I haven't posted for a while but yeah, looking forward to my big trip overseas tomorrow!!!
I feel high from eating fresh honeycomb, drinking coffees and eating Dark chocolate coffee beans and bbq peanuts.

My manager calls me into the office today.
I thought I was in trouble for perhaps:
(a) slacking off
(b) writing too many personal emails at work
(c) always having a Facebook tab open
Instead I get promoted to be Team Coach! But only for 3 weeks as the Team Leader of another team is on leave, and their Team Coach is acting Team Leader.

Not too much has happened to me lately.
But I am excited cos I've booked and fully paid for my tickets to Europe and Japan at the end of the year!!!
And today, I went out with Belinda to pick up some things for travel - got a 75L backpack and some clothes while it is still sales time and there are still winter clothes available.
I'm starting to get a bit excited!!! Bit more than 5 months to go!!! |

It's good to know that I am doing well in my new team at work after finally getting feedback. I got marked on the accuracy for my first piece of work under the new system and I scored a perfect mark - I am psyched!!! I'm hoping all goes well when we expand and split the teams.
What else new? Um, went to Melbourne for 2 days during the Queen's Birthday long weekend and spent over a grand over 2 days so my bank account is going ouchies!!!
We had a nice farewell lunch for Sara before she departed our shores for her home in England.
Went to Edward Scissorhands (which was fun) and Michael Buble a few weeks ago.
Going to get a new phone (if this freaking company will let me leave their services!!!) after I switch ownership from my mum to me. Don't use SimPlus - they shit me!!!
I don't think any more events are coming up that I can remember... |

| Fitness & Melbourne |

I had my first personal training session last week and had my fitness age tested.
I have the fitness age of a 26 year old which is good considering I am 24 but my trainer has now set the goal that I have the fitness age of a 20 year old.
I had my first major training session today and I learnt how bad my sense of balance and mainly working on my core muscles to improve stability.
I started packing my suitcase for Melbourne. I've been pretty lazy which is a pretty hopeless effort because it's so last minute - I reckon I will forget something.
In other news, my search for a referee for a promotion at work is getting difficult with most of the people most familiar with what I do on leave at the moment (study and annual), is part of the selection panel and is therefore unable to be a referee or is no longer employed in the organisation - What am I to do?
I have Edward Scissorhands tomorrow night so that should be pretty good!!! |

| First day after the end of daylight savings |

Despite daylight savings being over, my body clock woke me up after 7 hours sleep.
I skipped going to the Red Bull Flugtag with Rhys and Rochelle as much as I wanted to go and see people in their crazy inventions throwing themselves off a pier and into the dirty ocean waters of Sydney. I was sick of public transport and heading out to the city AGAIN, just wanted to chill out on my Sunday and wanted to spend a bit of time with myself in the arvo.
So I visited my family, played with my baby cousin and then headed out to Cabramatta for yum cha.
It's good to hang out with my brother every now and again since he doesn't live at home anymore. He even came along fabric shopping with me (Sorry bro)
Yep, I decided to teach myself to sew. I had fun with helping out with the Girlsquad dresses for Con but I felt I had no idea what I was doing so yeah, skill building. So this arvo, I cracked open the cheapo sewing machine I was given (2 years past its warranty and never used) and just set it up over watching a few teen movies. I'm starting with the easiest thing of the patterns I have lying around the house to see how I do. |

| V Festival |

V Festival was pretty good. It was too bad Diane was sick and had to pull out but gave me her ticket and Dale pulled out as well and gave his ticket to his sister. Conundrum of people being ill or uncontactable, but long story short, lots of fighting over the third ticket and I ended up going with Justine which was good cos I got to know her better.
I was there mainly for the last 2 acts but I did enjoy Roisin Murphy, saw those 2 people from last year's Big Brother (Thomas & Susannah), drank what was the equivalent of a jagerbomb but not described as one, chilled out, saw too many short shorts, etc.
Queens of the Stone Age were pretty good though I wished they played some other songs that I liked.
Smashing Pumpkins were worth seeing. From all the forums and shit I've read, he was suppose to be a real cunt on stage and I was reluctant of the new line up but they worked well together. Another hot bassist and a young guitarist dude - wow, not Zwan. Played a bit of old, a bit of new, did some weird political thing with the "Star Spangled Banner" , played a "The Streets" song, wished they played "Disarm", "Zero" and even though not people like this song, "Ava Adore". But they encored with "Cherub Rock".
Then we winded down after the festival with a few drinks and went home. Yay for good music and good company.
But I think the Music Gods must love me cos 2 weeks in a row, guys are letting me go in front of them because I am short and "can't see well" - awesome!!! |

I feel weird.
Shall hibernate like one of those bears (not cute and cuddly but ugly and aggressive) for the next couple of days me thinks.
V Festival tomorrow spoils it but I at least get to see Smashing Pumpkins in their new line up glory, Queens of the Stoneage, maybe Air, maybe some Roisin Murphy, maybe some Modest Mouse (or Depeche Mode), but I forgotten most the line up anyway... |
